Anyone available to help out at the track this weekend? The BMKC could use some volunteers AND Duffy and his crew will be racing for the first time. I volunteered to work the race earlier this week because I would like to help out a club that has been VERY nice to us in the past and wanted to express my appreciation by "giving back" some of my time. Ron is looking to put on a free BBQ for everyone that makes it to the track on Sunday as a thank you for coming out.
While it is expected to be a little toasty on Sunday I'd think we'd be done fairly early in the day given the typical kart counts for a club race. If I remember right, last year we were done by 3pm or earlier.
Don't want to commit to working the race? No problem, how about coming out and helping out our new guys with their first race? I will always be indebted to Todd Hinton and Steve Bryant for being my pit crew for my first race. I was a COMPLETE newbie and had NO idea what I was doing. Both Steve and Todd were there for me and helped me out tremendously. Duffy and his crew are very new to all of this and I'm sure they would appreciate anyone who comes out to help.
See ya Sunday!

If you don't want to work the race just come out. If you want to BBQ let me know. We can arrange to have everything ready to go during the Heat races so cooking can begin.
The workers on the track obviously cannot BBQ, and we are trying to coordinate drivers and dad's to BBQ but as you know on race day that is difficult.

We have our workers, but can always use help around the track. Obviously since we have the base workers lined up the others can rotate in and out, or help with other matters.
We are having the BBQ which will be free to all that attend.

In appreciation for those planning on attending the May 17, 2009, race, Blue Max will be hosting a BBQ for all of those in attendance at no extra charge. Presently the plan is to provide hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, sodas, and water during the break for lunch between the Heat and the Main.
The food and drinks are being donated to Blue Max to help us shake off the last race and move forward as expeditiously as we can.
Lastly, because it is going to be hot, make sure to bring plenty of your own water or other hydrating drinks. Keep an eye on everyone else, especially the kids, so that nobody suffers from the heat.
