Anyone have an address for the Shasta track? The website still looks to be a work in progress.

Trying to get the post in the correct spot. On the F200 thread it was referenced that at Redding the "2nd heat they invert the field".
I personally have never had a race day where they inverted the field. How does this work? And doesn't an inverted field encourage the racer NOT to pass and move to the front?

Not really because generally the starting order is based on the combined results for the two heats. So you don't want to sandbag. Go to the front young man!

I was expecting to "break down" and end up in back. I just want to know if a break down will actually help me this time.

Didn't Reno just invert the top 4 (or 6) or something ?

It is sometimes called "Motocross scoring", where each position 1st through x is awarded points, and the total points of the two heats determines the final "position". In motocross you can finish second on both heats but win the event. In oval racing we did this all the time, pea pick for starting position in the first heat, invert for the second heat, then start the main based on the total score of the two heats. Hope this helps....
