Tore the engine completely apart. My work on the head, piston, rings, and cylinder wall still in race ready condition. Apparently I did something right.

Rod bearings and rod still in great shape. Rod bolts still torqued to spec. Everything within tolerance. Crank sheared into two pieces. The half with the rod, bearing, and piston installed turns without problems. Took out rod bearing, no scoring or discoloration.

When the crank sheared it also sheared the cam gears, and broke the cam in half.

I think the cause was metal fatigue due to age. That matches me because I have mental fatigue due to age.

Now I have to determine what I should do. Parts cost in excess of $300. I would really like to finish the F200 season out, but I do not plan on throwing money into this costly closure to a season.

No thanks I am good. I may take the weekend off. I may not even bring Daniel to race Dixon. He is going to have a big day the next day and needs the rest. I also have to go out of town that night for a big court hearing bright and early Halloween.
