Is this really a Saturday race?
I found something interesting on my kart following PC. My brakes are binding. I am going if BRad will let me work on my kart without turing me in.

And yes it's a Saturday race, which is cool, as it means you automatically get the Friday off work. It's the law.

The web cam in your garage has been disabled. Please proceed at your own risk.... Old head is completely broken down and parts are ready to be transferred. Carbs apart, exhaust and intake off, head removed, measuring parts in progress, rear axle loosened and adjustments being made. Does anyone know how the Redding track is for tires? Would a new set be in order, or does it work better with old tires?

Add to the list of things to do: fix chain guard. The chain guard is almost broken in half from the impact at the end of the PC race. I will have to weld and splice.

Working on the kart has uncovered a major problem. Due to piston rocking in cylinder (failed rings), cylinder wall scored and piston slightly damaged.
Options: (1) leave it be, tune for as much as I can get, and hope for the best, (2) leave it be, tune for just short of high end knocking, and hope for the best, (3) order rings and piston, hone cylinder as best as can do on short notice to get by, and hope for the best, (4) order complete overhaul parts and do it right, (5) don't go to Redding and the season is over, or (6) don't go to Redding and blow it up at Dixon.

Talked to Dan P. in Redding last night. Their website is still in limbo. Race day; 9:00 AM 2 timed practises, 2nd is qualifying setting grid for the first of 2 heats. 2nd heat they invert the field. Main; 16-18 laps or whatever NFRA decides. Usually done by 3:30-4:00 pm. I am pretty sure that NFRA will be last on the schedule. He said the gates will be open early Friday morning for practise and camping at the track is free. I forgot to ask about tire wear, sorry. Talking too much about a used WF and getting him to rebuild it for me before the race.

Engine completely torn down on my work bench. Cylinder wall slightly scored. Need to hone to size, and then plateau hone to finish. Waiting on parts. ScottB and I are coordinating for the piston installer., Thanks BradH for the offer.
Also I thought at the last race the sprocket carrier shifted. It did not. The entire axle shifted over 1/2 inch.
