Someone was talking of a couple of WF's for sale at the PC race? Comparing prices on rebuilding the F-200 or going to WF.

I think it was Luis that had a lead on a complete kart with 2 WF motors. I don't have any contact info for Luis, maybe someone else has ?

I have looked at new WF motors and they are not cheap either. Will tomar clutch fit on a WF and what chain do you guys run 219? $1,000 with carb, clutch and starter; race ready. I sent B&S an email about a new WF in the box and have someone out here put it together. I know I could sell some of the F-200 parts to help off set the cost. Be nice to have a motor that will run longer than 12 hours, maybe I should switch to an animal engine <5000 rpm's?

Hey Don, we run the #35 chains to allow use of split sprockets. Even if the clutch comes with a #219 driver you can get the #35 driver for about $20 and swap it over. Not sure if the Tomar clutch would work, even if it did I'm pretty sure it's not strictly legal for the WF class. I think we have to run steel drum clutches.
The WF generally seems to be a reliable unit. I know Rich has been unlucky and had a clutch spring break, a rod seize which broke some other bits and some other smaller issues, but hopefully he was just unlucky and will now have many seasons of trouble free racing.
Scoots will yell at me for saying it, but take the plunge and come of over to the WF side .... the more the merrier !

The heck with the f200, im looking into a stronger/longer crank to go with the larger bore of the f200. How about the WFers taking the plunge in CORA. and it only takes 4 or 5 karts to be your one class and you can race on your WF tires and the same way you race them at the other tracks. Come on, you know you want too. this Saturday

No the WFs aren't cheap either. Course nothing in racing is with the possible exception of a clone. I know Rich has had some tough luck but in my experience they are a pretty dang reliable package. No need to have one put together. They ALREADY come together! Also, if you buy it local (like from Terry Ives) he goes through it to check clearances just to make sure everything is right before he hands it over. It comes with the spec clutch and header. All you need is a muffer/pipe which I think goes for about $65. You may well be able to part it out to get a headstart on the costs. Ron could have used a head a couple weeks ago. When I got out of the F200 I sold my starter for $200 bucks and gave the rest of my stuff away (head, clutches etc.) which I sure I could have got $300-500 for. If we can get you in a WF (and I'm still working on Ron, ) we can get to the numbers we expected at the beginning of the year. Not sure how many people are going to be able to get to Redding but our last race in Dixon is looking REALLY good for WF numbers. Heck, even with race still a month away our line up is looking like this... Rich Simon ScottB BradW Leo Terry Luis Chris (some of you met him at PC. He is a RRing multi-Duffy winner) annnnnnnnd, believe it or not, even KARL may be making an appearance according to what he said last week. 9? Holy crap...... And of course a used motor is also an option for about half the price. Luis said as far as he knows his friend still has a couple of sale. Working on contact info and pricing.

That would be fantastic to get that many WFs on the grid !
Better start my neck exercises now after the problems I had at my last outing at Dixon.

MCR out of Bakersfield has new stock WF for $950 + tax/shipping. Or get the stage 3 built to the hilt, broke in, race ready; $1999.00 ouch! I did a few searches on the internet and I can not find a used WF any where. Matt @ MCR said the WF engine is high demand. Guys are running them or dirt ovals down there. I think I am going to get a WF and put an animal coil on it, everyone will still lap me..

The $950 price is the standard price for a WF you should be able to find from a number of sources online. $1995? Jeez, no way I'd pay that! Used WFs aren't easy to find that's for sure. But they are out there. I should be hearing back from Luis soon on the 2 we heard about no too long ago.
Personally, I wouldn't put an Animal coil on a WF. I look at it as a safety item. Not in the traditional sense of safety, however. More like to keep me safe from myself. I kind of go grrrrrrrr everytime I hit the limiter but it keeps me from winding the crap out of the thing.

I was just kidding about the Animal coil. They run alot of clones down south on dirt, they are cheap, not what I am looking for. Found a WF on Emmick chassis (same as mine) set up for dirt, $1,000. Called the guy waiting for response. I am interested in what Luis's friend has also. 35 laps at Dixon, my arms would fall off! I will ask the guys at Shasta about the track and tire wear.
