Anyone up for making this race? Looks like it you want to race both races (2 X 30 minutes) the cost is $250 (+40 if you don't have your own transponder). While that isn't cheap, remember for that price you should get roughly 2 HOURS on the track.

What you NEED to do is get your friggen motor ordered. Everything else falls into place once that is done.

I'll push, I got lots of practice at that the two times I have done Infineon.

slacker.... I'm in! Brad is it a stay overnight kind of race day ? I know people do, but I usually just drive down to Infineon. Now, if we WERE to stay down there the bet to get around the track in less than a minute, in the dark, is back on (ala Reno)! ;D

My standard question ........
What gearing would I need ?
..... and how narrow do you go on the front ?
..... when you say two races, is that WF Medium and WF Heavy ?

All WFs seem to run the same gearing-22/64. I don't touch the front end but on the rear end I go as narrow as I can (without the right rear tire hitting the motor). Yes Med and Heavy. The weight on a road course is less important than the draft.

Ok, thanks Brad. So if everyone else is running a 64, I should run a 62 then ;-)
Not 100% sure I will be able to make it, but I'll try. That was one reason I bought the WF after all ..... to go and scare myself stupid on some road courses.
The races are on the Saturday, yes ?

I can't remember what your driver is but that sounds about right. ;D Yes the race is on Saturday...and yes, you will scare yourself. At least a bit at the beginning. Oh, and also when you are flying down the carousel at full speed on cold tires!

I was downloading the entry form and I noticed this is a rain or shine event.
Do we need a set of rain tires?
I remember Brad's story about not bringing enough dry clothes to change into. Anything else out of the oridinary that we might need?

Downloading the form? Way easier to register online. NCK does all their registration via DLB Racing www.dlbracing.com. You have to setup an account but once you do that, it takes about 3 mins to register. Then in the future you can register really quick. About a week before the race they used to send out wrist bands, tech cards, and programs out via regular mail. That way you can just drive through the gate. Yes, road races are wet/dry affairs. I have no desire to race in the rain at a road course again. LOL They way did things in years past was to give you the option to run or not. If you didn't run you could apply your fees to a future race. I've got an email into Mark the pres of NCK and will update this thread when I hear back from him.

Wow, that was quick... Mark said the option rule doesn't apply because this is a standalone event (Western States Road Race Classic).
I still want to run this race but rather than registering now, I think I'll eat the late registration fee and wait (maybe even until the day of the race) till I have a better idea of what the weather is going to be. The downside is dealing with all the people who had the same idea and didn't preregister. We all arrive at the track between 6:45-7:15 and they have to get out the cattle prods. ;D
