When are you guys going to be there? Might be fun to check you all out! ;D The plan is to get there by 7. Once nice thing about RRing is your race(s) generally have a scheduled time. I THINK our 2 races are at 10:30 and around 2ish. I'll have to check...

Looks like it's going to great weather. I'll try and come up and watch the races. I'll bring the camera and a big lens and see if I can get any good shots up on T2.

Hey Simon, sorry I didn't get your message till today. Rich said you were coming and when we didn't see you we figured it was probably for the best cause if you HAD come, WITHOUT your kart, you may have had to deal with a fair amount of grief. LOL We had a really fun time. First practice was ah, quite the experience. Between an ice cold track, cold tires, water weeping from a number of places onto the track, speedy dry all the way from the entry of 5 until after 6, it was quite the ride. Especially going into turn 11 where it was weeping completely across the track. For those unfamiliar with Infineon, that spot is where you are going the fastest on the track. Even going through that patch completely straight, you invariably lost control for a second and had to catch your kart before going sideways....doing about 80. Luckily, by the time our first race got underway all the karts going through it pretty much had it dry. Rich did really well in his first RR. Despite starting mid-end pack we beat everyone onto the track managed to run 1 & 2 for a while in both races. Unfortunately, in lap two I lost my clutch bolt and spent most of the race watching from the exit of 6. At least I was one the track for all of the second race. LOL

Weeeeeeeeeeeeee! We We Weeeeeeeeeeeee! Race was awesome. Scared myself silly a couple of times. What Brad was nice enough not to mention was my 70mph off course excursion thru the infield grass & mud . I had a failure to keep in between the navigational beacons at turn 10 1/2 and just drove straight off the track. Mud and grass is still embedded in my kart now. Just for the record to much ackerman is a really bad thing. People kept coming up to me and asking " Did you know that you are really sideways in turn( pick a number )" Will absolutely do this again

Hey Simon, sorry I didn't get your message till today. No worries Brad. I fully intended to come and watch the second race and set off around noon, but traffic from 19th Ave to the Golden Gate bridge was a completely nightmare. It too forever and by the time I got to the bridge it was already 2:15 and I know that SP is a good 40 mins beyond that, so abandoned that road trip and went to the Marin headlands to take some pictures. Glad to head you had a good time ! Next time I'll certainly make a better attempt at putting the kart together for some RRing.

I just now looked at a track map.A little late I know, I just followed people around the first practice. My off the track excursion actually stated at turn 8 thru turn 10.
