On the Comer 50 head picture, I see some dayl;ight in the upper right. Can you sneak it in through there somehow?

I will try but the wire on one side has the CHT spark plug lead that will not fit through. The other side has the coaxial cable end that I don't think will fit, but I will try. I will take it apart and see if I can get it through somehow.
Can the wire be spliced and still work. If it can I can get the wire through and then splice it.

Ron,
If the wire you want to splice is a coaxial cable, I do not recommend it. They are a pain. However, if you can safely remove the two ends, you could maybe attach them to a new coaxial cable. But, special tools are usually required.

It is not a coaxial like a TV but it screws into the back of the Alfano like one. It appears to be a solid wire with some kind of wrap on it. I am thinking of biting the bullet, grabbing the wire cutters, and cut.  |

If it's a thermocouple then the wires are often made of strange stainless like material that is a real pig to solder and ends up giving you the wrong value. Crimping might be a better bet if you can.

I was going to cut and got scared. My options are (1) cut and try, (2) the MyChron on my kart has a different lead that WILL work (but then he gets my MyChron stearing wheel on HIS kart); (3) buy him a MyChron that will work; or (4) just tune the Kid kart as I always have, without a gauge.
