I've been looking and cannot find the answer. Does anyone know what the difference is between an adult standard WF, and a junior WF? For example are they different carburetors, restrictor, ... .
I am thinking of putting one on the cadet kart my son has to try and get him on the track.

Ron, I was curious myself. It is an IKF class. There is a WF junior II listed in the next 4 stroke Nationals at #325 but no rules or specs listed. Searched the IKF web site, no luck. Probably have to buy a rulebook.
When we going to see the new WF on the kart?

Cadet would be Jr-I not Jr-II.
I looked up Jr-II WF once and the only difference I could find was that the minimum weight is way less. No restrictor nonsense that I could see, which makes sense for 12 years old and up (it's slower than KPV-II or Jr KT-100)
If I can find the website with the rules again I'll post them as I'm pretty sure the Jr-I rules were on there as well.
Why not Clone on a Cadet ? Daniel tried that and had a blast.

Ok, after extensive research (well 5 minutes on Google) I don't see any hint of a Jr-I World Formula class anywhere. There is a Jr-II as I mention above, like so .... Jr. World Formula: Competition age: 12-15 years old Weight: 325 lbs minimum kart and driver combined Tires: Bridgestone YKC 4.5/10.0-5 front, 6.0/11.0-5 Rear Engine: World Formula per IKF Section 717 Maximum Rear Width: 55-1/8” Clutch: As specified in IKF rule book.
but the only Briggs JR-I classes I can find are Animal or LO206.
I would still vote clone on a cadet, they go well, especially if you forget to put the restrictor plate in.

I think I will do the clone project for the cadet kart. By the time I finish it, my 8 year old will be 12. (that joke was for you BradW).

Ron- There's no difference regarding engine packages. The Junior ll engine is identical to seniors for World Formulas. Animal packages do have restrictor plates for Junior l, and LO206 Animal motors have a 6100 rev limiter. Briggs makes a kid kart Animal motor w/ a 4100 rev limiter that has a bigger carb slide, prohibiting the carb from full throttle. It's a great package for the family that wants to race 4 cycles with the same equipment for years to come.

Thanks Dan. It is always good getting detailed information. I simply want to get my son, who raced Kid Kart, and has been intimidated by HPV (KPV) to get back in the seat, He won a championship so I know he has the ability. The question is desire.

At the moment we don't allow the WF to be used by juniors, however we were contemplating a trial. Our Subaru's come with an electronic rev limiter and were thinking of putting it on the World formula limiting it t0 5200 rpm, which would be the same as the Subaru. Let you know how we go.
