So I'm taking apart my stuff to try to figure out what went wrong with my chain. Since its all going to be apart anyway I thought I'd see what gear to throw on for redding. Any ideas from those who have been there before?

I don't think any of us have driven track 12 before. I personally have no idea.
Are you finding anything wrong, bent, or out of order, that would cause the chains to jump? Don't forget to take the chain off and lay it on a level surface. If it is bent it will be obvious.

I am planning to try to do that tonight. I have been getting things together for my kids 4H spring show and basically ignoring my kart since I was so disgusted with throwing the chain so many times. I think I can open the trailer up now and not kick my kart in frustration

... I was so disgusted with throwing the chain so many times. I think I can open the trailer up now and not kick my kart in frustration I had that for many races. I don't recommend kicking the kart you will probably hurt yourself more than the kart. I like the 10lb sledgehammer and then just go to town on the bodywork. Sometimes the bodywork can be pushed back into shape. Or it is at least easily replaced. And you will feel better too.

Just some feedback on gearing for track # 12. The Animal racers are using a 4.00 to 4.20 ratio, thinking W.F. will be in that same range given the 350# vs 390# class difference. Regarding that mount, might try a dial indicator to make sure any two-piece mount has zero offset when overlapping two pieces, and the engine block is squared up too on the mount as well. The easiest way, measure each end (lengthwise from the side) to keep within a thousandths of an inch. Accuracy does matter!

Obviously Dan didn't see Rich and I banging on my kart with a 5lb sledge and a huge crescent wrench after I collided with another racer who lost a wheel in front of me. For me that is about as accurate as I can be. You should see me do an alignment. I (1) line up steering wheel, (2) step back and eyeball front tires, (3) bend head from side to side opening and closing one eye, and then (4) say "Ehhh, looks good to me, let's race." ;D

Dan,
Clayton from Energy America needs your number. He has someone who needs some MG reds and he wanted to get them from you. Can you PM me your number?

re: accuracy....We BOTH know better than that Ron! Now, I do believe the 5# sledgehammer comment, and can just picture the Will Clark swing!
