I am still sore after that race weekend. Having to race myself and crew chief for Jr1Clone was tough. I am, however, very proud of my son who held his own on the track with mom watching from the sidelines (probably with her eyes closed most of the time). As for race day, I really don't like inverted field with two classes that are racing. It made for a bumpy race for us when held up by a slow Clone, and getting hit in the back by a clone that is faster than the one in front of me. As I went for the line to pass the slow Clone the fast Clone also dove and made contact in the corners. I decide to let the clone behind me go in front. Then I past slow clone easily, and then I past the fast clone, not having to worry about contact from the back. At the end of the race most clones were broken and off the track. Also the inverted field resulted in the red flag incident in Jr1Clone which did not help mom's blood pressure. the fast kids in the back think they need to pass in turn 1. Finishing order for WF was Rich, Ron and Brad. I predict that there are no KC charges to be filed as the day was pretty uneventful.

I predict that there are no KC charges to be filed as the day was pretty uneventful. And I predict you are wrong Ron...lost transponder? Kart stand launching off a ramp resulting in the kart crashing to the ground??? Yeah I still hate inverts. Although, this time it worked out (P3 to P1 in heat one, P4 to P1 in heat two). Too bad pole for the main didn't pay off this time. Way loose kart made me lift TWICE going through 8-9. D'oh! Then Rich and Ron freight trained me down the straight. Then a combo loose condition/over driving sent me off coming out of T4. Initially thought I kicked a chain when I couldn't go anywhere goosing the gas. Wasn't till I got out of my kart did I realize I was high sided with the on track tire in the air and the other digging a hole to China in the sand/dust/dirt (whatever that stuff is). Congrats to Rich! Way to go!! For those of you that couldn't make the race you'll find some new conditions on the track. First, rather than refilling the cracks in the track they cut out 2-3 foot sections (the width of the track) and replaced with concrete (about 20 of them). Second, you know the berm on T5? Well you haven't see anything yet till you see T8. Unofficially it is just under 27 inches high. That section of the track already has a high pucker factor. With the new berm you will be clinching before you even get out of T6.

And then my brain told my foot, LIFT, LIFT, LIFT, LIFT, what the &*%^ are you doing, LIFT!!!!!!

There was an incident on Friday before you guys got there where a guy got waaaaay loose in that corner and wadded up his kart pretty good into the barriers. I had put that out of my mind till I'm flying down the hill from 7 into the 8/9 complex in the main and I'm thinking hey, wait a minute, I'm waaaay loose here (tire pressure and rear width adjustment), don't hit that friggen wall! A couple oh crap moments and the rest is history....to those who will be racing up there for the first time this year in the NIGHT RACE, nothing to think or worry about... ;D

Then Rich and Ron freight trained me down the straight. I was there and at no time did I witness such an incident. I assume when you state "freight trained", you mean Rich and I were bumper to bumper as we drove steadily down the straight. I can honestly say that did NOT happen.

Once again Reno does not disappoint. Not a big fan of racing with the clones, Too many variables( fast clones, slow clones, what the !@#$%^& are you doing clones). We need our own race to make that much more enjoyable. They even scored them together at the trophy presentation. Poor kid in Jr. clone only got a third place trophy because they had Ron and I winning the Sr. Clone class. Brad had me worried all thru the first two heats with two first place finishes. I was somewhat worried about my own kart ( loose and CHT of 440 and climbing) Decided to let the track come to me and ignore the temp. Will have to figure out the temp thing sooner or later. Also a mysteriously moving brake rotor that wanted to keep moving over against the caliber? I only have the video of the 1st heat, the first few laps of the 2nd, and none of the Main. I knew I should of replaced those batteries. The video of the Main would have been good because it would shown us waving to Brad as we passed by upper turn 4 lap after lap after lap Will post what I have soon The new track repairs are interesting. The inside berm of turn 8/9 is stupid scary when you are standing there looking at it. That is not a rumble strip that is a friggin ski jump. It is going to take major courage to make a pass at that corner now! There is a thread in Ekarting forum that has pictures of the wadded up kart from the 125 shifter race. That is one balled up CRG! Ron I have your 2nd place Clone class trophy New NFRA rule. Ron is now required to bring his entire family with him for the remaining races of the season. He was just relaxed, calm, and so focused the whole day.

Jeez Ron, take off your sensitivity cap for a minute please. ;D What I said wasn't a BAD thing. I screwed up, you guys took advantage (which you are supposed to BTW) and that was that. Good job!

I don't have a sensitivity cap on (don't even own one). I am just saying what happened was NOT a freight train. If it was I would have passed you too. You have to read this thread, with the comments from the KC thread to figure out what happened. FYI, I was told that there was a major announcement on the speaker when Rich so gracefully took the lead. Good thing he had a neck brace.

I hope they did not give me a trophy that a kid should have received because they scored them together. Are you sure the trophy is not Daniel's because he was around 2nd or 3rd, and passing at the final 0.10 of a second of the last lap. FYI I was stressed NOT relaxed, frantic NOT calm, and zoned out NOT focused. If they all come to the races it has to be at a local race close to home so they are not captive audiences.

Sounds like we need a new sub-class of EW offense ... something about whining about inverted grids. I love 'em !
Sorry I missed the race, hopefully normal service will resume again soon.
Congrats on getting a win there Rich ! Sounds like an action packed time was had by all.

Thank you Simon. Although it sounds like I missed alot of the action behind me. A position that I will more than willing to repeat. Here is the Video, at least as much as my camera batteries would record. You have to stop the video and just check out that turn 8/9 inside berm youtu.be/DOIM-lmkE3cHeres the link for that wadded up CRG. It looked nasty www.ekartingnews.com/viewtopic.php?t=123562
