I've been contacted by an author writing a book on karting. Seems in his research he came across our site and would like to talk to a few of us. His last email is below and is in response to my question about how many drivers he would like to talk to...
Hello again Brad,
"I guess about four of the better drivers in your organization, and maybe one or two beginners. I am going to be doing interviews this Wednesday starting at about 9 a.m., Maybe take a day or two and see what your schedule is like. This book is in it's final stages, My deadline is June 12th, so I have a couple of weeks. I've been doing both group and single interviews. For instance in phoenix they're gonna have several drivers at the local shop and I will call and interview all of them separately. And another driver I'm gonna call at his house. Either way works for me. I will probably need to get releases for the use of these interviews. I can usually do this via Email though so it's not a big deal."
"I will get my clients approval to release copies of this book to you, and your drivers. So you will all get a copy. This project is an Ebook so you will receive it via Email. Also your website will appear several times in the book as a clickable link, I think the exposure should increase your web traffic and membership volume. Also any pics you would like to share would be very helpful in illustrating this section of the book. My Client may decide to sell this book online at some point so keep that in mind when releasing any material to me.
So kick it around a bit, and let me know a good time/date to call and also the number you would like me to reach you at. Another thought would be maybe some pics of the actual drivers interviewed so we can put them in the book next to their interview. This will give my readers a more personal feeling about the interview. Thank you for your interest in this project and look forward to hearing from you soon.
