Wow, where to begin. Showed up with 5 WFs and and Hal's open clone. Still weren't allowed to have our own race. Had to race with the clone seniors and juniors, roughly 25 kart field. Over the course of the heats and main we managed to bend, break, crash more than the rest of the season...combined. I am NOT kidding. I'm going to leave it at that for now....oh, and it was FRIGGEN COLD! Like 30 degrees cold on Friday night.

On a positive note, Rich managed to recover from getting wrecked in the first heat to win the main. Congrats Rich!

Thank you for the props, Racing with Brian in the final was some of the best racing I had this year. Very focused and slightly angry I would like to thank the entire NFRA crew for keeping my attitude straight after the first heat. I was almost ready to pack up the truck and call it a night. It has been a long time since I needed a timeout. You guys were great. I think everyone of you came up and encouraged me to get it fixed and continue racing. It started to feel good bending, cutting, grinding, and fitting those bars back on the kart. The damage looked far worse than it was.( I think/hope) For the Record. I was not wrecked in the first heat. I had to hit the brakes hard to avoid getting caught up in a multiple clone incident coming down into turn 6. I spun to the extreme inside and had enough time to turn my head and watch as three more clones plowed into the mess and me. No blame or accusations just a sense of disappointment in the level and quality of the driving I do think a letter to NNKC is in order to better understand the expectations of both sides for us to continue what has been very enjoyable racing at their track. Can somebody forward me Brian's e-mail?

Just look at the Main finishing and see how that race went. 6 DNF. I was really a DNS because of all of the mangled metal hanging off my kart. Brian also DNFed on purpose to not finish and impact finishing order as they would probably classify him as a WF. I am POed because I qualified on pole, finished heat 1 in first and then I got collected by errors caused by clones. NFRA caused nothing on that one, so I do blame them, unlike Rich who is really nice. Frankly Rich, to have to hit the brakes hard to avoid a multiple clone incident, to me, means they caused it. Had we been on the track as our own group it would NOT have happened. (As you can tell I am still angry as I looked at my kart again this morning.)

Oh, and congratulations in Jr2 Clone to Daniel who pulled out a 2nd place. Unfrotunately he lost it on the start when the winner was on the throttle about 100 feet to early, and I saw Daniel's hands go up. But, he had a chance during the race, and I think passed her at one point. He held his own and did an awesome job. Especially for someone who has NOT raced since his last Reno race last year. Great job.

I think everyone covered it all above. I have some interesting helmet cam footage from my kart and Daniel's. I'll probably cut them together into one epic movie. Rich's heat 1 spin and subsequent impacts didn't look very exciting from my kart, but Daniel had a way more exciting view of the proceedings and I have no idea how he didn't join that pile up.
My spin and subsequent punishment by Brad barely shows any impact but my spindle spontaneously bent and tie rod end exploded.
Video of me standing on my glasses was too dark to make out, so no hilarity there.
If you don't turn in your tech form expect to be punished.

Hey guy's....sori it took so long 2get on here, but I had 2get re-educated! Thx foe the opportunity 2finally get a chance 2run w/u and, I hv2 admit...the results were better than I was expecting! I didn't hv a driver until Brian dropped his helmet in the seat abt 10 minutes b4 qualifing and, away he went! It was a bummer 4he and Ron 2get tangled up and see Ron get trailered for the nite, but that was off-set by seeing Rich 'come back' from the 1st heat set back and hv a Great race w/ Brian treading their way thru the field in the final for a great run 4both of them! Congrats 2Rich 4the "W"! (Did he buy Beer...or was it too Cold)? Looking foward too nxt season in hooking up w/ you guy's and introducing "Pro-Clone" here in the West! ps...Rich, Brians e/m is on the NNKC web-site.

So I take it that the Reno club started the WFs behind the clones? That is definitely an issue to have corrected for next time. They need to be reminded who introduced them to 4 cycles in the first place It is easier to lap the clones on lap 10 or so than to try passing while they are sorting themselves out on lap 1. And on a personal note, I would never (ever) race with juniors. I would have packed up on that situation alone.
