So who's really in ?
I spoke to Rich today, so I know he is, and he said Jeff is in, plus the Egans from Monterey. From what I see on bobs 4-cycle Hal has a two headed monster to unleash on the world ;-)
I'm STILL fixing crap that was destroyed at Reno. Two new spindles, new spindle pin, tie rod end and today I discover the steering shaft got bent in the impact .... should have one delivered from Fast-Tech before Thanksgiving. Assuming that arrives, I'll be there.
Ron ? How's your wrenching going ? It would be great to have you there as well !

Yep....the 'Demon' is in and....ahead of schedule (I think). I picked up Teri's tire tools and it worked pretty well (once I figured it out)! Hey 'Rich'....are you still goin friday(?)....what time? What's the latest that we can still get in?

Hal, gave up on the idea of going Fri. night. Unknown food & coffee supply in the morning. Can't actually move into our pit spots until that day anyway. Not worth the hassle for me. Lots of people will be there doing it though. Not sure what time they lock the gates. Roger would be the one to confirm that with.

Ron ? How's your wrenching going ? It would be great to have you there as well ! I just got back in town. Bailed on work and went to southern CA for son's Mission project. Came back tonight. Parts were at my office. I have them all installed but ran into a few problems. Used old kart to pick and pull some parts and I am close to testing. Will probably test at Davis Thursday or Friday to see how it runs. I have a work function to get to by 6pm on Saturday so I will have to leave with time to spare or I could have work issues. |

Parts all installed, other than clutch gear for Sonoma. Everything appears to run good, but there are no brakes. Master cylinder leaking, and something wrong in the back. Will pull everything apart tonight and hopefully test tomorrow. Also just had to take the dog to the vet with a seizure. There goes another $400. Happy Thanksgiving. |

Unfortunately it is not going to happen. Everything runs good engine-wise. Setup needs work as not tracking good with change axles and changed spindles from my old kart. New spindles did not work and had to send back. Ordering some different spindles.
Main problem is brakes. The pounding from the accident ended up cracking the rotor apparently when i went off track. Also trhe impact damaged one of the brake pads taking a chunk out of it. Axle was a little bent so I put a new brake rotor with the 40mm axle and that all works good, but unfortunately the brakes are definitely not up to par for road race.
I am at speed at Davis and I cannot even get the brakes to lockup when I tried. You go full throttle down the straight, slam brakes and hold, it slowly comes to a stop. Not good.
Have fun tomorrow. I am going back online to order parts to get everything I need for racing next season.
