Paul and I are heading out to PC next weekend to see if we can shake off some cobwebs. Anyone else up for a few laps? Everyone is welcome and we hope to see you out there. Planning on being there around 11. If you are new to our group and would like to get your kart squared away (or just want to hang out and meet some of the gang) please join us!

What day? I would like to join you guys. I have a cyclocross race on Sunday in Fairfield at 9:00-10:00 which is almost half way there so if it were Sunday it would work. Plus on Sunday the PC dirt track is open too.... But I could prolly make the Saturday too.
The 250 shifter will be on the trailer too for giggles.

Hey Brad- I made good on my promise, 3 hours on-track, Wed of this week! Ran laps w/ a Porsche factory driver, SKK alum Sean Johnston. My body still hurts, along with my ego. We were running flat-footed through 1 & 2, so bring your A game north. BTW, I'll run @ 365, you'll give me that, right?

Sure you can start at that...you just have to add on the Home Track penalty of 25#s and the Exhaulted Grand Poobah of all knowledge that is racing penalty of 15#s. Oh, almost forgot the 15# penalty for practicing/training with a Prosche factory driver. So, let me pull out all my fingers and add this up.....looks like you should be leaving the grid for our Redding races at 420 pounds! Yeah!!! Of course, failure to do so would result in the most harsh KC penalties I'm sure.

Holy crap, heaping undo accolades, & penalties on an old guy that struggles to put on his racing shoes? Simon, I'd like to file charges against the 9 team, even before the season starts, for AVOIDABLE CONTACT! On the brighter side, there's a funny story that goes along w/ Sean. He came to rddg hoping to settle a score, sponsor in-tow (and in a kart) so after a few beers, I'll share it.

OK cleared for Saturday. What time is a good time to arrive out there? It's about 2hrs from here so would like to coincide with y'all. I'll mount my MG reds on my new rims for a try. I just checked my current tires and they are YKCs not YHCs. Don't know how they compare to the reds. I'll have both the 5 and 15deg mounts along with my jet kit to play with. Although other than dumping fuel on the following drivers visor last time it ran just about perfect.
I've got 14T and 15T drive sprockets and 53,55,56,58,59,60, 62 and 65T rears - one of those surely has to work there!! I might need to borrow a #35 chain breaker. My RLV one is pretty lame for some reason. There's no other brands for the #35 chains either.

Not me. I probably need to look at that yellow kart and make it presentable for the enduro.

Presentable? You know either Ron is going to break it or Rich is gonna start driving "crazy" again... You know I am really getting sick and tired of people saying I break stuff all of the time. Maybe I'll just show up with my OWN kart and out perform everyone. Oh wait, I can't drive my kart, I broke it.

Warx, Paul here. My opinion is some RLV chains are junk, some are pretty good. None are excellent. The BlK/BLK or Blk/Gld are junk. They kink a lot and also they are the cheapest in price too. You'll see them on sale online everywhere. The Gld/Gld is the premium line from RLV and they are the ones you want if you stay with the RLV brand. I've had pretty decent luck with them but still not my preference. I personally like the chain from EK. I use the Silver Pro racing chain and get it from John at Fastech Racing. Here's a link. And their shipping is rediculously fast and cheap. www.fastech-racing.com/ek-35r-silver-pro-racing-chain-106-link-bulk-packaging.html?&cat=510The EK chain is just a better built chain. Never had a kinking issue even after repeated chain-busting while switching gears at the track. I highly recommend EK over RLV. 2 cents given. See you at the track, -Paul

Thanks Paul! Yeah - I love getting stuff from Fastech the next day! I'll try a couple of those chains.
I mounted my MG reds today while the sun was out. Tough since I did something nasty to my right shoulder rotator cuff pull-starting the WF badly last week. Trying to not go to the doc but it's not getting better and I'm not getting any sleep without major pain meds. Motor racing is dangerous...
So I've got my trailer loaded with the WF and the CRF250 for tomorrow. I'll plan on getting there around 11am too. I am bringing my other motor mount (5 deg) in case I need to change it.
