I didn't finish the garden in time to make it out on Saturday. How was the track configured in CW form? Was the hairpin retained? Top of the hill or shortcut? Inquiring minds want to know.

Hairpin was in (and cut was open too) and top of the hill. That right turn at the top of the hill was my favorite going CW. In the ol' clone it was flat out through the last three turns and just a slight lift - felt like some banked oval! In fact I sort of liked it this way. Of course I've only driven it the other way twice!!

I was told like last year there will be no hairpin on the 1st lap but hairpin included in all other laps. All the rest of the perimeter is included.

I went with my youngest (Kid Kart) on Saturday. The weather was perfect. Track was clockwise (full track). My son spun out one good time on turn three (CCW) when coming down off the hill. He did not know about the drop that was banked to the outside. But he had a blast and mastered it after that. He is so amped to race it CW.
Prior years they had the start and eliminated the hairpin with cones on the start only. Then they moved the cones and allowed the hairpin for the rest of the race. The only class they did not do that for was the Kid Karts because they did not want to confuse them.
I still dfo not have my kart together and I will have to meet up with Tommy some time to get a bumper.

Well now I'm mad at myself for not showing up, it was one of those do I load up and drive to Davis and hope to not get wet, or do save the fuel, tires and practice fees till I can get better set up and practice weather, not that it matters, as thats all out the window on any given race day this time of year, what worked yesterday may not work today, weather permiting I'll probably just do my usual practice saturday and race sunday kamikaze routine, its kinda worked in the past, whats the worse that can happen? Hey if its gonna happen its gonna happen out there!

The interesting part is, those who practiced Satuday (hot) got a completely different feel for the track than those that practiced on Sunday (cooler). I know the sun definitely helped my son not spinout as much because we were able to get the kid kart tires up to temperature.

I was struggling on sunday with too much grip in the cold... if it was grippier hot... i think my head is going to fall off during the race... : )
