I was looking into changing the F200 gear driver. Am I correct that there is just one size with different number of teeth that fit the 4 cycle? I don't see any others, and they are not identified by F200, WF, clone, etc.
The one I see is a 35 chain, 3/4 " ID, with the different number of teeth.

You don't mention which clutch you have but I know the Tomars use replaceable drivers. For example I have a 21 for road racer and a 14 (or 15) for sprint, both #35.
3/4" is the correct output shaft diameter.

I think it is a Tomar. I'll have to make sure but I have never removed it, serviced it, or adjusted it. Shoot I have hardly ever looked at it. I actually assumed the clutches were the same on all F200's. I guess I should not have assumed.

I let my clutch rub gently against my right kidney while racing. It's a bonding experience.

Do clutches have a name on them? If so where do I look on it?

If you can't find the name try posting a picture of the clutch.

I am trying to post the picture but can't. How do I make a picture that has more than 1,024 KB post?
I couldn't find the name without moving the engine. Now that I have moved it, and cleaned it (okay just the part where the name is) I see the name Tomar. It looks like there are 2 disks. The question now is: TD 43 or Stellar 4?
It doesn't really matter now because the drivers are interchangeable. But if I get it a part and break it I will need parts.

Ron it has to be a Stellar4, A TD43 would not last a full race in an F200 (they are much smaller)

here is the link to tomar clutches. My F200 has a Stellar 4 ,2 disc which kicks in at 4200 rpm with red springs. I cleaned it up, measured the clearances and put it back together and it still works! I hope it has one more race in it at the end of the month 7/31 @ Davis if it is not toooooo Hot. I bought the rebuild parts and will replace them after the Davis race. I also got a 14 tooth driver, I have a 15 on there now. www.tomarengineering.com/karting/tech_manuals/manual_stellar4.pdf

If I could figure out how to make the picture size in MB smaller I could post it. I am not that computer savvy. I am assuming it is the Stellar but it does not look exactly like the pictures on the Tomar website. I am making the next assumption that they have changed the looks a little since this clutch was made, probably 4 years ago.
I think I will just order parts. Worse case scenerio, I am wrong. It won't be the first time.
Thanks guys. See you at Davis 7-31-2011

Well the clutch driver came in while I was on vacation. The parts are no longer Tomar (out of business), but I received a Bully part instead. The tolerances are not quite as exact as Tomar with a +- 0.002. I had to file a little bit to get it to fit, but it is on. It went on tighter than I really wanted, but I did not want to file more. My fingers are crossed.
Maybe I will practice this weekend.

I have the chain back on, with the 13 tooth driver in place, but it appears to bind a little when it rotates, even with sufficient chain lube. The chain sounds and appears to not be rotating around the driver smoothly.
I removed and inspected everything again and everything appears to be within spec. Chain and driver are aligned but I can visually see the chain struggling to engage the driver completely. There was no binding with the 14 tooth driver, and this same chain.
Do drivers have to be broken in (i.e., run gently until it engages the chain better)? I changed drivers on 2 stroke many times but never had a problem like this. My plan tonight is to change the chain to see if it makes a difference. Any advise would be appreciated.

Ron, are you using the same chain your drug around PC and I think Davis? If so, try another chain. Seems like when they get kicked off they sometimes have issues that aren't obvious to the eye. Rich had the same sort of problem at Reno. After one of his many off-roading experiences the chain just wouldn't roll right even though it looked OK. He put a new chain on and it rolled as smooth as could be. The other thing is, I'm not sure you can use a 219 driver with a 35 sprocket!

It is not the same chain as PC, those 4 died long ago. ;D In fact I used this chain just for the main at Davis. It turned smooth with the 14 tooth driver, but not the 13. It is a 1335 Bully driver. That means 35 chain, 13 teeth. You have to give me more credit than that. Well, maybe not.

Ron, does that driver have a bushing or a bearing? And no you dont have to brake-in a new driver unless he/she is an X head
