I know it is several weeks ahead of time for the race but I have to get my s___ [stuff] together.
What is the typical protocal for staying at the track the night before, and/or are there hotels nearby (other than Reno)? I don't see any near the track.
I have our last Little League game on 6/4 at 3:00 pm. We are having a small party, awards, etc, after the game. I probably will not even be on the road until around 7 pm and it takes several hours to get there.

Funny you should ask Ron. I was just about to start a thread called Reno~Reno~Reno!!! Travis from the NNKC called me last night to talk about our trip up there. For those of you that don't know Travis, he started the whole 4 cycle/clone stuff up there. Great guy. Anyway, he wanted to touch base on what our plans are for coming up and to get a sense of what our numbers are going to look like so he can a)plan a BBQ for us (they always roll out the red carpet), and b) he wants to block off a section of their pits for us so we can all pit together.
To your questions. While I have stayed in a hotel (when the Mrs. came along with me), it is much more fun staying at the track. Out of all the places we go there is NO better track to stay at. Out there in the high desert overlooking a valley and airport they run the Reno air races at under a million stars, it is great. If you do want to stay in a hotel I think you pretty much have to look to Reno (although there may be one right at the exit to get to the track).

My Friday and Saturday are Little League ugly. With multiple games, drafting lineups, dealing with parents (oh I mean players), equipment issues, etc. By the time I get up in the Reno vicinity I am going to be exhausted and just want to lay down and pass out. I may stay at a family members house in Truckee and then come over in the morning.

Depending on Little League we are planning to come (me and at least 1 Jr maybe 2) up Sat am or pm (if we play in playoffs it is definitely PM). If I can drag myself up there and do it to it

I have both stayed at the track and went 15 min into town for a hotel. Staying at the track is the best if your whole party does not mind camping. You can pitch a tent right in the pits, as they are mostly sand.

I plan to drive up Friday evening and stay with a buddy in Truckee Fri and Sat night (which means I'll probably miss Travis' BBQ)
I'll save the camping fun for the night race.

My racing season may be over sooner rather than later. Even with a lot of physical activity, weight loss, and practice putting me back into shape, I re-strained my back. I don't think I will make it to Reno. I have one week to get back into condition.
Does anyone know how many F200's show at Reno? I may go just to watch.

How can I get in contact with Mr. norcalacr. I have the parts I used at the last race. I also want to give him some new parts as I am sure I took some life out of the old parts. I sent a PM with my email address.
Going to Reno is still up in the air as I recuperate. That is the main reason I want to get the parts to him sooner rather than later.

I'm getting concerned about the drive up more than the weather once we are there. It rained hard with hail here today and I'm worried about driving the pass with a trailer in snow conditions. What are others thinking?
