I'm still in. I won't be hitting the road until about 8 pm, after all of my baseball/school/church functions end. I am staying at a family member's house in Truckee. I will see you Sunday morning. Maybe I should borrow a clone engine and race that class.

... my tools and kart sleep outside like they always do when we go on a road trip. Buy a large tent and wheel everything in it. They have them big enough. Also Track 5 for Sunday is the same as Track 5 for the night race. It is perfect practice!!!!!!!!!!! All you have to do is run a couple of regular laps Sunday, then close your eyes for a few. Alternate like that through the end of the race and you will be geared up for the night race on August 13, 2011.

Since all my "excuses" have been exhausted it looks like a go for me as well. ;D Thanks to Simon for giving my kart a home for the night and thanks to Scott for offering a bunk at his place for the night.
Just got back from the store with beer and BBQ supplies (plates, forks, napkins etc.)
F200s, Scott, out. Paul, don' think so. Ron, looking forward to that. ;D Anton-said he needs some cash to rebuilt his motor, likely done for the season. Don-not this race as he works for UC Davis and needs to monitor water levels for rice fields this weekend.
Gearing? Well, let me tell ya...after exhaustive research into the detail records I keep for each session at the track, this is what I have to tell ya. Going with the old, "it's better to LOOK good than been good" mentality, I've discovered that I am .75 seconds faster with my old color scheme of the Margay colors vs. what I have been running. Consequencely, I've made the switch. Regarding the ho-hum details of what gears to run, I have no idea. I, like Simon have a 15/61 on there. I would have gone 15/62 but that gear never returned to me after a race weekend. ??
So at this point it is my understanding that the following will be making the drive:
Scott Ron Simon Rich Brad
Mark, are you still planning on coming? I'm asking because I picked up our shirts/sweatshirts last night and I'd like to bring your orders along....
Oh, and for what it worth, I'm planning on leaving Folsom by 9ish.

Ron, looking forward to that. ;D What does that mean? I need F200s. I don't want to be by myself.

I've decided not to come. I got rained on at the autocross last weekend and it would be much worse with all my tools and karting gear. Also, no other NFRA cloners coming. Good luck to all you brave souls. I hope the weather there cooperates for you.

5 intrepid NFRAers trekked to Reno, but had to come home without racing (I was not among them). See y'all next race!

Does the Le Mans 24 hours have a class for Truck & trailer ? I'm just done 2 five hour stints in the last 24. I think I'm ready.
To those that didn't make it, you missed a nice track walk this morning and an NFRA IHOP breakfast !

Sorry we missed it! We'll try for the next one! Is there a make-up date?

We had the makeup race while walking the track. After starting the walk, and coming around the last corner I forgot to take the checkered flag and exited the track. I guess that gets me a DNF.

That's alright Ron, since you started the race you at least get last place points! Our walk/race went without incident...for the most part. Race officials are still investigating the end of the race. It seems that Rich started skipping coming out of the last turn (a clear rule violation-anyone else detecting a pattern here?) and took the checkered.
While we didn't get to race, we did get a few practice sessions in on Saturday. Travis put on his usual excellent BBQ. We need to get some more folks up there next time, if for no other reason than to stop me from eating 3 hamburgers again. ;D
In addition to free practice on Saturday Brian said that any NFRA members who made the trek over the hill will be allowed to race at the night race free of charge. WhoooooooHOOOOOO!
Thanks to everyone at NNKC for all their hospitality!
